Classic April Fool's Joke
ARTICLE ORIGINALLY APPEARED AT

Hunter's tutor Catherine brought us a cake yesterday as a thank-you gift for our birthday present to her a short time ago. I should've suspected something--she had already given us a thank-you card, and it was April's Fools Day--but I guess I just wasn't paying any attention.
We don't do sweets around here either, so the cake sat on the kitchen table all day. But after dinner, Hunter was tired of waiting. I told him to get plates, forks, napkins, and a knife, and let's have at it.
Hunter had a little trouble cutting into the cake, and we began to discuss what kind of cake it was when I took over...
...and quickly discovered that it wasn't a cake but an upside-down metal CAKE PAN frosted to look like a cake!
Very clever. We called Catherine to congratulate her on her joke. Hunter immediately started thinking about a revenge joke, but I told him it had to wait until next year.
She brought bear's-claws over this morning--no one has touched them yet either. I'm not sure if we dare!

I don't do April's Fools around here, and I don't encourage my son Hunter to do it either, but I certainly appreciate a good joke.
